Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.

Our courses are designed to provide you with the theoretical understanding and the practical skills in order to design, develop and run (or support) your Forest School.

Led by Course Director Pete Brown, the GEM Foundation Course on Museum Learning virtually explores a variety of topics relating to learning in museums, heritage and cultural settings, from access and inclusion to interpretation, from management to evaluation, interrogating different ideas and approaches to help you develop your skills and understanding.

This training is for organisations commissioning and working with creative practitioners in the field of arts and health. This could include statutory and charitable organisations delivering community arts programmes (i.e social prescribing schemes) and arts organisations that commission artists. This training is not designed for individual artists.

The day will be an introduction to the work of two of the leading organisations delivering theatre in Criminal Justice settings: Clean Break and Geese Theatre Company.

Two days of practical music-making ideas for people working with children who have complex needs in health, education and care settings. We have a proven track record in designing hands-on, stimulating and enjoyable training for those working with children who have serious illness, learning difficulties, or disabilities. It is running in London on 7/8th November and in York on 11/12th November.

Your course comprises two core subject-area modules exploring Music, Wellbeing and its Evaluation, and Applied Professional Practice. Through these modules you’ll expand your understanding of the relationship between musical engagement and wellbeing, and learn to identify the methodological and ethical challenges of researching in real-world settings.

Enhance your management skills and support your team’s performance with our Organisational Well-being course. This programme is designed to help managers of museum learning teams create a workplace environment characterised by psychological safety, trust and effective communication. This course is comprised of 4 monthly sessions, enabling you to digest the material and reflect on your practice.

This online course gives you the practical resources and theoretical background to design an effective writing group of your own. The course is suitable for those offering, or intending to offer, writing workshops in academic, healthcare or recreational settings.

This is a certified CPD course and those who successfully complete it will receive a Certification of Completion.
