CHWA's impact

Telling the story of CHWA's impact

CHWA regularly evaluates its work so that we can understand how we meet the outcomes in our Theory of Change

  • Increased sustainable investment in creative health
  • A representative creative health sector that fosters inclusion and belonging
  • A membership empowered to work towards a more just and equitable society
  • Creative health embedded in local and regional strategies
  • Improved skills, confidence and wellbeing in creative health practitioners

We are currently developing a full impact report for the organisation for 2024-5.

You can read evaluation reports for the Creative Health Quality Framework here; and for the 2023 Conference here.

In March-April 2025, CHWA conducted an Impact Survey for our members. The full results can be found here

Highlights include:

Over 90% of respondents find the bulletin useful, or very useful:

"Great info - I share 2-3 articles that I think are of interest out to my networks of creative health practioners / people with an interest in creative health. It's often relevant to my roles, or offers interesting insights or inspiration to other people's work."

Over 60% of respondents had used the Creative Health Quality Framework, and 76% had shared it with others.

"it's a very helpful and comprehensive document but ... it would be really helpful to offer [training] to orgs to support the adoption or to use the framework as a basis for a practice development group or similar"

Over 60% had attended workshops or training provided by CHWA.

"I have benefitted enormously from CHWA training, particularly around health and navigating systems"

73% had used our online resource on research and evaluation; over 40% had used information from the State of the Sector Survey and almost 40% had used our Policy on Payments for Freelancers and Low-/unwaged Individuals.

Members also advised us of their priorities, which include thought leadership and peer support:

It feels as if the waters are increasingly choppy and we need CHWA to help steady the boat and also mobilise our collective power.
