Curating for Change: resources and sector forum

Curating for Change logoCHWA is thrilled to be part of the The Curating for Change (CfC) Museums Strategic Disability Network – a supportive framework for museum sector organisations and those with specialist experience to work with with D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse people. It specifically aims to tackle the under-representation of disabled people in museums, using the expertise of our group.

You can now access short films of the first Curating for Change sector forum (October 2022) and the Sector Action Plan: We Are Not All The Same here

A new 2-part forum is now coing up on 19 April and 14 June. This will focus on induction, retention and career development for D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people to thrive in their museum careers.

We recognise that it is not enough to employ equitable recruitment practice, without having the appropriate language, behaviours and networks in place to enable D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people to work and progress in the museum sector. This 2-part forum maps that trajectory from initial induction to broader career development into leadership.
